2013 A Record Breaking Year for Bitcentral’s Oasis

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – September 23, 2013 – Oasis, the media industry’s only solution for comprehensive news archiving, asset management, field-based workflows and collaboration, has reached another major milestone. Over 400,000 stories were moved between news production facilities. Millions more have been securely deposited at 175 locations around the world.

Oasis is built on a flexible industry exclusive hybrid private and public cloud model that enables organizations to leverage the power of access to raw and finished stories and archives with bureaus and partner newsrooms around the world. With simple right from the box readiness, a typical full system launch is possible in just two days. The proven simplicity of the solution allows more locations to go live on a regular basis.

Reaching this year’s milestones is due to many factors. “We have built a solution that journalists love,” said Rick Young, VP of Sales and Product Strategy for Bitcentral. “We deliver all the tools they need, in their hands, from within their familiar newsroom production environment. But, even more than that, we empower them to virtually collaborate from the field on laptops and mobile devices, with other facilities and with partner organizations in methods that just are not available, affordably, in any other way.”

Oasis allows for tight integration with the industry’s leading newsroom computer systems like AP ENPS and Avid iNews. Video, scripts and metadata move in unison throughout the production process. Oasis breaks down production silos by enabling discovery of critical raw, works in progress and finished assets.
