NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 24, 2020 — Bitcentral Inc., a well-known provider of efficient media workflows in the United States and Latin America, today announced that they are exclusively providing the essential infrastructure required for news production, master control and digital streaming to the newly launched Black News Channel (BNC). BNC implemented Central Control and Core News as essential tools needed to power the channel’s workflow and production as part of its initial launch last month, and the network plans to utilize FUEL, Bitcentral’s highly efficient production, cloud streaming and video monetization solution, in the coming weeks with the launch of its viewer-facing web platform.
As a news organization, BNC aims to give voice to the varied experiences, issues, points-of-view and priorities that are critical to African Americans. The network officially launched on Feb. 10, with more than 12 hours of original programming during the week and five hours of original programming on weekends. BNC is currently available on Spectrum, Xfinity X-1 Platform, and Roku, and will soon be available on Sling, Vizio Smart TVs, and Xumo – using Bitcentral solutions through every application to ensure a premium viewing experience.
“It was no small feat to launch a specialized news network from scratch, and the support we received – and continue to receive – from Bitcentral over the past year has given us the right tools and processes needed to succeed as we establish ourselves as a go-to network for the African American community,” said Bob Brillante, BNC CEO and co-founder. “We are filling a need with a wide range of original content we’re producing on a daily basis. The solutions we’ve deployed with the help of Bitcentral ensure our viewership is presented a memorable experience that keeps them tuned in and offers us a direct path to operational excellence behind the scenes.”
“After decades of being in this industry, it’s a meaningful experience for our team to be part of a significant channel launch like BNC. It’s rare for an all-new property like this to launch in today’s landscape, and our team committed the time necessary to assist the BNC team every step of the way,” said Fred Fourcher, founder and CEO of Bitcentral. “We will continue to support BNC in the years ahead as they establish and grow a loyal following, producing and broadcasting compelling content for a traditional linear viewing experience while meeting the demands of the complex digital landscape.”
BNC marks the latest in a number of new Bitcentral customers who have made a commitment to revolutionize their content and their operations since the start of 2020, joining the ranks of broadcasting groups and stations leveraging FUEL and hundreds of other stations using Central Control and Core News.
