Newport Beach, CA – December 4, 2013 — Hearst Television Inc. has chosen Bitcentral’s Oasis to manage and archive its award winning news product. The announcement was made today by Rick Young, Vice President of Sales and Product Strategy at Bitcentral.
Enabled by Bitcentral’s Wellspring, stories will be automatically safeguarded in the cloud to ensure those assets will be available forever. While maintaining absolute Disaster Recovery security, the journalist, working from any location, has immediate access to all current and archived stories at any given moment.
“Oasis and Wellspring provide the perfect solution for our needs,” said Joe Addalia, Director of Technology Projects at Hearst Television. “We know our valuable news product is safe while providing the professionals in our newsrooms immediate access all from within their newsroom computer systems (ENPS) or even from the field. Content is always secured but, as important, it is always available when news breaks.”
Hearst will complete a corporate wide deployment of Oasis and Wellspring at its more than two dozen news-producing stations by the end of Q1 2014. This is in addition to the already standardized Bitcentral Precis deployment across the Hearst Television group.
“We are thrilled to work with industry news leaders like the team at Hearst,” Young said. “Hearst Television is a technology leader as well as a news leader, and is again guiding the way by deploying a unique architecture that leverages Bitcentral’s hybrid private and public cloud model. It is an honor to be trusted in their award winning newsrooms. Our CORE:news platform with Oasis is changing workflows and enabling collaboration in ways that no other vendor can empower while providing the utmost mission critical reliability that customers like Hearst Television demand.”
