NEWPORT BEACH, CA – March 7 2012 – Bitcentral, dedicated to transforming the way TV news is gathered and shared, announced today that Mr. Fred Fourcher will sit on the File Based Workflow and Media Asset Management panel at the 2012 Technology Leadership Summit in Orlando, Florida.

Mr. Fourcher will challenge the assumption that file based workflows alone are 100% better than before. He will outline the key benefits of file based workflows, employing Wide Area Media Asset Management, where workflows enable a nationwide editorial staff to manage, produce and share media wherever it is.

The advantage of a Wide Area Media Asset Management workflow is convenience; convenience that allows stations to make the most of their content by collaborating with other stations in their group and virtually breaking down newsroom walls. Mr. Fourcher will cite instances where stations have increased sharing of content over 300% from the days of dubbing and feeding content.

By converting to this new workflow, stations have been able to air as many as 400 stories per month which are sourced from other stations in their group. It also enables the next wave in broadcasting, like cloud editing. Bitcentral’s Create enables editing in a browser from anywhere and manages the workflow all the way from video and audio ingesting, through content management, editing and finally the publishing of the story to run down, web and mobile applications.
