Oasis Media Marketplace, Oasis Pool, Precis 4.0 and more highlight Bitcentral’s 10 year at NAB
LAS VEGAS – Apr. 17, 2009 – Bitcentral, Inc., a leading provider of news production, management and distribution solutions, will debut several new technologies at this year’s NAB 2009 in the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 20th – 23rd in booth SU913. Bitcentral’s technology focus is to help broadcasters with newsroom solutions that enable them to consolidate and collaborate to produce better news for less.
One of Bitcentral’s newest products to be showcased is the Oasis Media MarketplaceTM, a unique revenue-generation tool that allows TV stations to share content within their own groups and sell it to other TV Stations. Oasis Media Marketplace connects content producers with content consumers to create new revenue streams.
Also joining the Oasis family this year is Oasis PoolTM, which provides stations in a competitive market with the tools they need to “pool” their resources and consolidate their operations, thereby reducing fixed expenses up to 25 percent. Stations utilizing Oasis Pool can rotate assignments between other stations to cover the assignments and gather raw video for each station to edit into branded content. Each station participating in a local market pool can upload SD or HD video files or even a stream to a centrally located Oasis Pool server. All stations can edit off the same raw content with the browser-based craft editor which is included with Oasis Pool. Because about 50% of the stories in a newscast are covered on other stations in the market, pooling is one of the best ways to significantly reduce costs.
In addition, the company’s new PrecisTM system simplifies news production. Precis is the only truly open file-based HD/SD news production solution. Precis can edit and playout popular broadcast formats like XD CAM, P2 and .MOV without rendering or transcoding. Precis is integrated with ENPS, iNews, Final Cut Pro, Edius, Sony Vegas and other non-linear editors, storage devices and video codecs. Precis manages the entire HD/SD news production workflow, resulting in the ability to produce news for multiple platforms quickly and easily.
For the field journalist, Bitcentral presents AirNow!TM, a simple, low-cost portable live streaming solution that fits into a small briefcase. AirNow! lets news crews cover live breaking news from anywhere at any time without needing a laptop, software, or special training. AirNow! uses the cellular EVDO network to deliver H.264 near broadcast-quality video when connected to a standard camera. As a special incentive only for NAB visitors, AirNow! is offered at a special low price of $9,995. To secure your purchase during the show, go to www.es.bitcentral.com/airnow to print a copy of the promotional flier.
Bitcentral’s 10th year at NAB is among the company’s many successes in 2009, which include the global expansion of the company (a new General Manager of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa was added in February), and several key sales of its Precis news management systems to major station groups across the country. Bitcentral’s decades-long commitment to providing broadcasters with the ability to consolidate their operations while maximizing content and revenue has proven to be a viable resource for today’s cash-strapped TV stations.
NAB attendees are encouraged to join over 100 TV stations to make 2009 the year Bitcentral transforms their newsroom.
